About The Position

We are seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and team-oriented individuals to join the culinary team. The Cook/Prep Cook cooks and prepares food according to recipes and production guidelines while following food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures. The role also involves maintaining a safe, clean workstation, supporting positive customer service, and protecting company assets. Other duties and tasks may be assigned by the manager.

Requirements

Experience as a cook or in a related role is required.
Knowledge of basic food preparation principles, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations, including proper food handling, sanitation, and storage.
Must be able to obtain food safety certification.
Basic math and counting skills.
Interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes.
Set up the workstation with needed ingredients and equipment.
Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items.
Safely use a variety of utensils, including knives.
Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers.
Bake, roast, broil, and steam meat, vegetables, and other foods using a variety of cooking methods.
Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines.
Store food properly in accordance with food safety policies and procedures.
Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils.
Maintain excellent customer service and a positive attitude toward guests, customers, clients, and coworkers.
Follow safety policies and procedures, including proper food safety and sanitation practices.
Ensure the security of company assets.
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the manager.
