About The Position

A food service management company is seeking a dependable, organized, and self-motivated Cook/Food Service Manager to operate a school food service program. The role prepares and serves breakfast and lunch according to menus, recipes, and USDA/NSLP requirements, in appropriate quantities and on schedule. It also involves maintaining meal counts, production records, temperature logs, and other required paperwork; managing food and supply inventory; operating the meal service/POS system; and maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen. The Cook/Food Service Manager follows food-safety, HACCP, USDA, and New Jersey requirements, communicates with school administration and the management team, and provides students with a friendly, professional, and welcoming experience. The position offers independence within a supportive school community.

Requirements

• Previous cooking or food-service experience is required.
• Basic computer/POS skills.

Nice To Haves

• Quantity food preparation experience is preferred.
• ServSafe® certification is preferred, or the willingness to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve breakfast and lunch according to menus, recipes, and USDA/NSLP requirements.
• Prepare appropriate quantities of food and ensure meals are served on schedule.
• Maintain meal counts, production records, temperature logs, and other required paperwork.
• Order, receive, organize, and maintain food and supply inventory.
• Operate the meal service/POS system as required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen.
• Follow food-safety, HACCP, USDA, and New Jersey requirements.
• Communicate with school administration and the management team.
• Provide students with a friendly, professional, and welcoming experience.
