About The Position

Hotel Valley Ho is seeking a creative, motivated Cook III with a passion for culinary arts and a desire to develop kitchen skills and grow a career. The Cook works with the culinary leadership team on food production and fabrication for kitchen preparation, cafeteria, banquets, dining room, and fine dining. The role offers experience with a range of cooking methods, recipes, kitchen equipment, and a world-class culinary team. The successful candidate will help create menus that reflect seasonal availability and the restaurant concept, while maintaining consistent food preparation, ingredient quality, and an orderly, sanitary kitchen.

Requirements

1–2 years of previous experience in a professional kitchen environment, or actively seeking a culinary education.
Active food handler’s certification or the ability to obtain one.
Willingness to work a variety of day, night, and weekend shifts.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
At least 21 years of age.
Desire to exceed expectations.
Energetic personality.

Responsibilities

Develop knowledge and skills in cooking methods such as grilling, sautéing, and frying.
Read and recreate recipes and prepare food consistently.
Learn to minimize food waste through cross-utilization of ingredients.
Set up workstations with the necessary ingredients and cooking equipment.
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping and peeling vegetables and cutting meat.
Keep the kitchen sanitized and orderly.
Store food and other items properly.
Ensure the quality of ingredients.
Assist the culinary leadership team with food production and fabrication for kitchen preparation, cafeteria, banquets, dining room, and fine dining.
Work with culinary leadership on menus reflecting seasonal availability and the restaurant concept.
