About The Position

The Cook II supports Munson Healthcare’s mission, vision, and values and its performance improvement philosophy. The role promotes personal and patient safety and requires effective customer service and interpersonal skills. The employee is expected to understand and follow the physical requirements of the job, use safe body mechanics and lifting and transferring techniques, plan work safely, and report unsafe conditions or equipment according to hospital procedures. Specific duties depend on the Cook II position assignment guidelines. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Requirements

Demonstrated effective skills in all levels of food preparation, storage, and presentation.
Ability to read and expand recipes.
Understanding of inventory, ordering, and food rotation systems.
Ability to work under time pressure, frequent interruptions, and noise.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Additional education in a related culinary field preferred.
Foodservice experience, such as in a hospital or nursing home, is desirable.
