About The Position

The Cook II performs food preparation duties according to the specific guidelines for the assigned position, follows safe work practices and appropriate body mechanics and lifting techniques, and reports unsafe situations or equipment according to hospital procedure. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. The position is listed as 32 hours weekly, full time, with a variable shift.

Requirements

Demonstrate effective skills in all levels of food preparation, storage, and presentation.
Be able to read and expand recipes.
Understand inventory, ordering, and food rotation systems.
Be able to work under time pressure, frequent interruptions, and noise.
Employees must be vaccinated or have lab-confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella; employees must also receive an annual flu vaccine or have an approved medical or religious exemption.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Additional education in a related culinary field preferred.
Foodservice experience, such as in a hospital or nursing home, is desirable.
