About The Position

Valora Orono, a Lifespark Senior Living Community in Orono, Minnesota, is hiring a full-time Cook/Chef. The community provides Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care services in a 72-unit apartment-style setting. The role prepares food in accordance with resident diet specifications, facility procedures, and dietary and sanitary regulations. The schedule is 1.0 FTE and requires working every other weekend, Saturday and Sunday. The hourly wage is $17.50–$22.50, depending on experience.

Requirements

• Must be able to relate professionally, positively, and cooperatively with residents, residents’ families, and employees.
• Must possess advanced computer skills, including email use.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a senior living setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food and meals according to planned menus, diet plans, recipes, portion requirements, and temperature-control procedures.
• Direct and assist with cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment, floors, dishes, and utensils.
• Check trays for menu and diet requirements, resident preferences, and accuracy.
• Ensure proper storage of food and supplies.
• Review and process diet changes and ensure menus are maintained and followed according to established procedures.
