About The Position

Delaware North Gaming is hiring a full-time or part-time Cook 3 to join the team at Southland Casino in West Memphis, Arkansas. The Cook 3 showcases cooking skills and provides visible leadership in the kitchen. In partnership with management team members, the role plans menus, prepares and delivers food to quality standards, trains kitchen team members, operates kitchen equipment, follows health codes and sanitation regulations, and monitors quantities, labor, and overhead costs.

Requirements

At least 2 years of previous experience in a back-of-the-house foodservice position.
Grill experience is required.
Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and recipes.
Basic math skills, including the ability to calculate and follow recipe measurements.

Responsibilities

Review menus and customer orders to determine the type and quantities of food to prepare.
Follow portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures.
Maintain proper food temperatures, store food correctly, and ensure menu items are fresh and high quality.
Package products according to specifications.
Keep workstations, coolers, and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked.
Maintain the kitchen and storage facilities in sanitary condition.
Follow waste-control guidelines and record waste on the spoilage sheet.
Perform opening, closing, side-work, and end-of-day inventory duties according to guidelines.
Plan menus and deliver food to quality standards in coordination with management team members.
Train kitchen team members and operate kitchen equipment.
Uphold health codes and sanitation regulations.
Monitor quantities, labor, and overhead costs.
