About The Position

The Convention Services Manager supports catering and food and beverage sales while helping ensure successful hotel events and strong guest experiences. Working with support from the Director of Sales or Director of Catering & Convention Services, the manager works toward revenue goals, builds relationships with clients and groups, and helps meeting planners deliver memorable events. The position is designated as an overtime-eligible manager (OEM); overtime applies and is calculated accordingly. The hotel is located near Lucas Oil Stadium and has an on-site restaurant, Skylight Bistro & Bar, a fitness center, an indoor pool, and 26 indoor and outdoor event venues. The job posting also notes that full-time hires become eligible for a benefits package after an initial waiting period.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license for the applicable state.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to negotiate, convince, and influence clients and colleagues.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer use.
Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and present effectively.

Nice To Haves

Prior convention or event experience.
Prior catering sales experience.
Creativity and knowledge of food and beverage or events.
Professional selling skills, including opening, probing, supporting, and closing.

Responsibilities

Meet meeting planner goals and food and beverage sales goals while supporting guest satisfaction.
Build relationships with clients, show them the property, and participate in local events and activities.
Track market trends and bring fresh ideas to the role.
Work positively with guests and colleagues, attend key meetings, and help hotel operations run smoothly.
Deliver event orders on time, communicate changes promptly, and support successful events.
Handle other responsibilities assigned by management.
