About The Position

The Convention Services Manager is responsible for managing all aspects and functions of the Convention Services Department in accordance with hotel standards. The role coordinates arrangements and event details for clients and directs, implements, and maintains a management philosophy that guides Convention Services staff.

The position is based at the Kimpton Miralina Resort, an Arizona resort with 40 acres and 50,000 square feet of event space.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of college; a degree is desirable.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Superior relationship-building skills and the ability to network effectively.

Nice To Haves

• At least two years of experience in a similar position in a similar operation.
• Experience with Delphi.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Catering sales experience.
• Fluency in a foreign language.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate client and individual guest needs related to event execution.
• Resolve complaints and requests to the client's satisfaction.
• Maintain complete knowledge of daily scheduled group functions, including times, locations, attendance, and specified requirements.
• Review the previous day's sales and labor costs and resolve discrepancies with Accounting.
• Track actuals against budget.
• Manage group room blocks through the contracted cutoff date.
• Prepare accurate deposit invoices.
• Review final bills for completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare and distribute accurate banquet event orders in a timely manner.
