About The Position

The Convenience Store Team Member provides a sincere, courteous, and friendly customer experience at Fleet Farm. The role is responsible for selling fuel and store merchandise, processing point-of-sale transactions, and assisting with overall convenience store operations. Duties include customer service and checkout, maintaining merchandise and displays, operating and maintaining gas mart areas, following safety and regulatory procedures, and opening, closing, securing, and cleaning the store.

Requirements

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Knowledge of basic cash-handling procedures, including simple math.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a variety of temperatures, including cooler, freezer, and outdoor temperatures.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customers with a quick and efficient checkout experience and operate transactions accurately.
Process monetary transactions involving cash, checks, gift cards, and credit or debit cards.
Follow applicable city, county, and state regulations and procedures for tobacco products, lottery tickets, and alcohol transactions.
Follow safe food-handling requirements.
Maintain fuel pumps, fuel islands, fuel operating consoles, and fuel tanker drops, and process related documentation.
Follow emergency response protocols for spills and hazardous material handling.
Keep sidewalks maintained and clear of trip and slip hazards.
Answer customer questions accurately about merchandise location, price, and use based on product specifications.
Maintain adequate merchandise stock levels and restock as needed.
Open and close the store and maintain overall facility security.
Complete convenience-store cleaning, including sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning restrooms, and sanitizing food preparation areas.
Set up displays according to company directives.
Promote Fleet Farm's customer loyalty program, credit card, and other company initiatives.
