About The Position

The Convenience Store Team Member provides a sincere, courteous, and friendly customer experience at Fleet Farm. This position sells fuel and other store merchandise, processes point-of-sale transactions, and assists with the overall operation of the Convenience Store. The role also supports safe and orderly store operations, merchandise availability, facility security, and customer awareness of Fleet Farm programs and initiatives.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Knowledge of basic cash-handling procedures, including simple math.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a variety of temperatures, including coolers, freezers, and outdoor temperatures.

Responsibilities

Provide customers with quick, efficient checkout and accurately operate point-of-sale transactions.
Process monetary transactions, including cash, checks, gift cards, and credit and debit cards.
Follow city, county, and state regulations and procedures for transactions involving tobacco products, lottery tickets, and alcohol.
Follow safe food-handling requirements.
Maintain fuel pumps, fuel islands, fuel operating consoles, and fuel tanker drops, and process related documentation.
Follow emergency response protocols for spills and hazardous-material handling.
Keep sidewalks properly maintained and clear of trip and slip hazards.
Answer customer questions accurately about merchandise location, price, and use based on product specifications.
Maintain adequate merchandise stock levels and restock as needed.
Open and close the store and support overall facility security.
Complete store cleaning, including sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning restrooms, and sanitizing food preparation areas.
Set up displays according to company directives.
Promote Fleet Farm’s customer loyalty program, credit card, and other company initiatives positively.
