About The Position

The Convenience Store Team Member provides a sincere, courteous, and friendly customer experience. The role sells fuel and other store merchandise, processes point-of-sale transactions, and assists with overall convenience store operations. Responsibilities also include maintaining fuel areas, merchandise displays and stock, store cleanliness, and facility security.

Requirements

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Knowledge of basic cash-handling procedures, including simple math.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in varied temperatures, including cooler, freezer, and outdoor temperatures.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customers with a quick, efficient checkout experience and process transactions accurately.
Handle monetary transactions, including cash, checks, gift cards, and credit or debit cards.
Follow applicable city, county, and state regulations and procedures for transactions involving tobacco products, lottery tickets, and alcohol.
Follow safe food-handling requirements.
Maintain fuel pumps, fuel islands, fuel operating consoles, and fuel tanker drops, and process related documentation.
Follow emergency response protocols for spills and hazardous materials.
Ensure sidewalks are maintained and clear of trip and slip hazards.
Answer customer questions accurately about merchandise location, price, and use based on product specifications.
Maintain adequate merchandise stock and restock as needed.
Open and close the store and maintain the facility's overall security.
Clean the convenience store, including sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning restrooms, and sanitizing food preparation areas.
Set up displays according to company directives.
Promote the Fleet Farm customer loyalty program, credit card, and other company initiatives.
