About The Position

The Convenience Store Team Member provides a sincere, courteous, and friendly customer experience while supporting fuel and merchandise sales, point-of-sale transactions, and the overall operation of the Convenience Store. The role includes assisting customers, maintaining merchandise and displays, conducting opening and closing duties, and ensuring the facility is clean, safe, and secure. Team members follow applicable regulations and safety procedures for food handling, regulated product transactions, fuel operations, spills, and hazardous materials.

Requirements

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Knowledge of basic cash-handling procedures, including simple math.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a variety of temperatures, including cooler, freezer, and external/outdoor temperatures.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customers with a quick and efficient checkout experience by accurately operating point-of-sale transactions.
Process and handle cash, checks, gift cards, credit and debit cards, and other monetary transactions.
Follow city, county, and state regulations and procedures for transactions involving tobacco products, lottery tickets, and alcohol.
Follow safe food-handling requirements.
Maintain fuel pumps, fuel islands, fuel operating consoles, and fuel tanker drops, and process related documentation.
Follow emergency response protocols for spills and hazardous material handling.
Maintain sidewalks and keep them clear of trip and slip hazards.
Answer customer questions accurately about merchandise location, price, and use based on product specifications.
Maintain adequate merchandise stock levels and restock as needed.
Open and close the store and help maintain overall facility security.
Clean the convenience store, including sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning restrooms, and sanitizing food-preparation areas.
Set up displays according to company directives.
Promote Fleet Farm's customer loyalty program, credit card, and other company initiatives.
