About The Position

The Convenience Site Attendant supports daily operations at a local waste and recycling facility in Garner, North Carolina. The role involves assisting community members with disposal guidance, keeping the site clean and safe, operating and monitoring facility equipment, and coordinating with collection drivers. The position requires outdoor work in varying weather conditions for approximately 90% of the time and availability for scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills for interacting with the public and team members.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, safety procedures, and posted guidelines.
• Basic math skills for general site reporting or tracking, if required.
• Ability to work required shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.
• Ability to regularly lift or move items up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Greet residents and provide polite guidance on where to dispose of household waste, bulk items, and recyclable materials.
• Keep the facility clean, organized, and safe by sweeping, clearing debris, and picking up litter or spills as needed.
• Safely operate and monitor facility equipment, such as trash compactors, in accordance with company safety procedures.
• Monitor waste container fill levels throughout the day.
• Assist collection drivers with positioning, securing, or clearing the area around waste containers during pickups.
• Open and close the facility punctually according to scheduled operating hours.
• Follow applicable federal, state, and local safety standards, regulations, and company guidelines.
