About The Position

Join Martin Systems as a Controls Engineer and play a critical role in the development and integration of cutting-edge security and automation systems. You’ll work on projects from planning through final implementation, ensuring seamless security control system integration and operation. Requirements

  • Programming Skills – Experience in VB.NET, C#, Python (or similar languages)
  • PLC & HMI/SCADA Experience – 4+ years programming or troubleshooting PLCs (preferably Schneider M251, Omron NX, Allen Bradley) and Aveva Wonderware Intouch.
  • Electrical Control System Design – Strong understanding of electrical schematics, panel layout, and control networks (AutoCAD experience a plus).
  • Networking Knowledge – Familiarity of IP networking, serial communications, and system integrations.
  • Problem-Solving & Self-Motivation – Ability to work independently, troubleshoot complex technical challenges, and optimize system performance.
  • Strong Communication Skills – Experience collaborating with clients and cross-functional teams.
  • Hands-on Troubleshooting and Software Experience – 2+ years in electrical engineering, automation, or security technology.
  • Security Clearance – Must pass government background checks.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Security Systems – Familiarity with access control, video surveillance, and intercom systems.
  • Degree or Equivalent Experience – Associate or Bachelor’s in Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related technical field.

Responsibilities

  • Design & Develop: Build integrations that connect diverse systems and platforms for seamless functionality.
  • PLC & HMI/SCADA: Assist in programming PLCs (e.g. Schneider M251, Omron NX, Allen Bradley) and develop interfaces using tools like Aveva Wonderware InTouch—deploying solutions that follow industry best practices.
  • System Integration: Analyze, design, write, code and implement secure communications between video, intercom, and access control systems (Via BACnet, API’s SDK’s, etc.)
  • Technical Support: Provide expert guidance to clients and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement continuous improvements in system design and deployment.
