BAS - Controls Design Engineer
About The Position
Building Systems Contractor is seeking a Controls Design Engineer / Hardware Engineer for their Pittsburgh, PA location. This role is part of the Controls Engineering Team, which is expanding due to increased market share. The company specializes in Building Automation, Lighting, and Fire Detection services for a variety of clients including Class A Commercial Buildings, Healthcare facilities, K-12 Schools, Universities, and Laboratories. They operate in two states and represent multiple BAS Controls product lines, including an open-IP option for Tridium Niagara integration.
Requirements
- Proficiency in MS Visio for application design
- Experience in Automation Engineering (BAS Controls, Lighting, Fire Detection)
- Ability to create wire diagrams
- Experience with redlining and producing drawings
- Skills in performing calculations for Valve Sizing, Damper Actuator Sizing, and BTU conversions
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Tridium Niagara integration
Responsibilities
- Create/design applications using MS Visio for 95% of projects
- Perform Automation Engineering for BAS Controls, Lighting, and Fire Detection systems
- Prepare Submittals
- Create Wire Diagrams
- Redline and produce drawings
- Perform calculations for Valve Sizing, Damper Actuator Sizing, and BTU conversions
- Conduct site-walks/job walks at client sites (10% of the time)
