As Controller, you will serve as Banner’s financial leader and work closely with leadership, project managers, accounting staff, and outside advisors to support sound business decisions. This role is responsible for overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting and forecasting, project accounting, cash management, compliance, ownership records, and financial systems while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
  • 8–10 years of progressively responsible accounting or financial management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience supervising and developing accounting staff
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, tax requirements, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience with project-based accounting, professional services, or cost accounting preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Ability to learn and administer accounting and project-management software
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
  • A high level of integrity, accuracy, sound judgment, and follow-through
  • Collaborative leadership style and a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, management reports, and financial analyses
  • Develop revenue, cash flow, and expense forecasts to support company planning and decision-making
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes and maintain accurate financial records
  • Oversee cash management, accounts payable, payments, billing, receivables, and collections
  • Manage project accounting, including project setup, backlog reporting, and contract information
  • Maintain internal controls, accounting procedures, the chart of accounts, cost centers, and financial classifications
  • Coordinate audits, tax filings, insurance, government reporting, and regulatory compliance
  • Calculate Banner’s overhead recovery rate and coordinate with the appropriate government agency
  • Maintain employee stock ownership records and administer stock transactions
  • Oversee accounting and project-management software, financial reporting tools, and dashboards
  • Coordinate company vehicle fleet, property maintenance, and lease responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and support the Accounting Associate
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen financial processes, systems, and internal controls
  • Work closely with leadership, project managers, employees, auditors, and outside advisors
