About The Position

Butte College is seeking an experienced, forward-thinking Controller to join our Fiscal Services team. This is a new position and will report to the Director of Fiscal Services. The Controller will provide comprehensive leadership and technical expertise across all accounting operations, financial reporting, audits, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong fiscal expertise and a continuous improvement mindset. This position will play a key role in driving efficiency, ensuring strong internal controls, and establishing timely, accurate financial information.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or public administration
Five (5) years of increasingly responsible financial and accounting experience including detailed financial reporting
One (1) year of management and/or supervisory level experience directly related to the responsibilities in this class
Direct experience coordinating and preparing Annual Financial Audit Reports and implementing new accounting standards
Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity and sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and staff.
Complete and submit an online application with all required attachments.

Provide fingerprints prior to beginning work.
Submit official transcripts showing completion of the degree, and proof of other requirements of the position, that minimally qualified the applicant (may be required upon hire).
