About The Position

Ocean Beach Health is seeking an experienced, strategic financial leader to join their team as a Full-Time Controller. This role is crucial for guiding the financial health of the organization and supporting compassionate, patient-centered care within a mission-driven healthcare environment. The Controller serves as a key financial leader, overseeing core accounting functions and supporting the district's financial strategy. This role is a member of senior leadership, ensuring sound financial practices, regulatory compliance, and operational success.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Accounting or equivalent experience required
  • 3–5 years of recent accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare setting or Critical Access Hospital
  • 4+ years of leadership experience, including team supervision and project management
  • Strong background in budgeting, financial analysis, auditing, and forecasting
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and financial best practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare, or related field preferred
  • Experience working with Revenue Cycle Management vendors preferred
  • Familiarity with healthcare systems such as EPIC is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage financial operations, including accounts payable, payroll support, and cash flow management
  • Oversee invoice processing, coding, and general ledger journal entries
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on budgeting, financial reporting, and strategic planning
  • Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and support audit processes
  • Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure organizational stability
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability and growth
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and state regulations
  • Support oversight and coordination with outsourced Revenue Cycle Management vendors
