About The Position

Assists the Director of Finance with the preparation and monitoring of the multi-entity financial functions of the agency, ensuring fiscal responsibility of the organization and the delivery of timely and accurate financial information.  Responsible for preparation of moderate to complex accounting and analysis in a managed care and construction/HUD environment.  Prepares journal entries and financial statements for all entities of the agency and analytical reports pertaining to the agency’s finances, programs and budgets under the direction of the Director of Finance.  Manages and trains staff within the department as assigned.   The position requires adherence to GAAP and application of accounting principles, advanced analytical and interpersonal communication skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field plus seven (7) years of accountant/financial analysis experience, plus three (3) years of managerial experience in an Accounting or Finance Department, preferably in a health-related industry.
  • Masters level degree or CPA preferable.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word and general ledger software.
  • Experience in all aspects of accounting, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and in financial analysis including complete responsibility for the preparation of the annual budget and cash flow monitoring of a major organization.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle
  • Ability to operate personal computer and telephonic communications equipment
  • Ability to read the screen of a personal computer monitor
  • Ability to read handwritten and printed documents and records
  • Ability to perform analysis of information
  • Ability to move around an office environment
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
