About The Position

Reporting to the General Manager, the Controller, will oversee all accounting operations, ensure Securities and Exchange commission (SEC), state and federal compliance and manage all financial operations and reporting, including internal controls such as 10-K, 10-Q, SOX Section 404, financial closing processes and auditing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 8 – 10 years of progressive accounting experience within a public company
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP, SEC reporting and SOX compliance
  • Advanced proficiency in the MS Office suite of products; experience with industry related accounting software such as Sage
  • Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Astute time management, attention to detail, accuracy, organizational, planning, effective multi-tasking, problem-solving, follow-through, customer service skills and ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively alone and within a collaborative team environment

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or Master’s in Accountancy is highly preferred
  • CPA license preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q) and ensuring adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Section 404 internal controls.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly and annual accounting close processes, including producing GAAP-compliant balance sheets and income statements, for reporting to appropriate agencies and Board of Directors.
  • Develop, implement and enforce internal control policies, to ensure accurate financial reporting and reduce fraud and errors.
  • Manage accounting team; hire, train, mentor, discipline and ensure retention of accounting staff.
  • Monitor budgetary allotments for operational and capital expenditures, analyze variances and prepare related cash-flow forecasts.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for external auditors during annual audits and quarterly reviews.
  • Partner with external CPA firm to provide financial analysis, forecasting and data-driven insights, in support of executive decision-making; act as primary liaison for external auditors and oversee tax reporting.
