About The Position

The Controller plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the financial operations and reporting of the organization to ensure accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial management. This position is responsible for managing accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and financial statement preparation. The Controller collaborates closely with executive leadership to provide insightful financial analysis and support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning. Ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal controls is a key aspect of this role, safeguarding the organization's financial integrity. Ultimately, the Controller drives financial efficiency and transparency, enabling informed decision-making that supports the company’s growth and sustainability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Experience managing month-end close processes in a multi-entity or operational environment preferred.
  • Previous experience in a Controller or senior accounting role within a similar industry.
  • Strong reconciliation and analytical skills.
  • Strong Excel and accounting systems experience required.
  • Advanced skills in financial modeling and data analysis.
  • Experience with QuickBooks and operational reporting systems preferred.
  • Strong understanding of tax regulations and experience managing tax filings.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports in compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate and lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing detailed financial analysis to support strategic planning.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and external regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during audits and implement recommendations to improve financial processes.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional development and ensuring high performance.
  • Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and oversee treasury functions to optimize financial resources.
