About The Position

The Controller leads the global accounting organization and serves as a senior finance leader, providing full leadership accountability for general accounting, consolidations, project accounting, and internal controls. This role partners closely with private equity sponsors, the Board of Managers, and the Audit Committee to support a multifaceted growth strategy across end markets, geographies, product lines, and business models. The Controller ensures accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting under U.S. GAAP, drives process improvements and automation across the finance function, and provides insightful financial guidance to cross-functional executive stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Ten or more years of progressive accounting and controllership experience, including at least five years in a senior leadership role within a multinational organization.
  • Extensive experience with U.S. GAAP, including ASC 606 and project-based revenue recognition using the percentage-of-completion method.
  • Proven ability to manage global consolidation and external audit processes across multiple legal entities and international regions.
  • Strong working knowledge and hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP and SAP ECC 6.0 Finance modules.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing global teams across time zones and cultures.
  • Experience in capital project–driven or engineering-driven businesses with international operations.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing complex global responsibilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with executive stakeholders.
  • Solid background in accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, and internal controls.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred.
  • Big 4 public accounting experience is preferred.
  • Experience supporting operations in India, Singapore, the UAE, and other global markets is preferred.
  • Prior experience with ERP system transformation or finance systems integration is preferred.
  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or healthcare industries is preferred.
  • Experience with percentage-of-completion methods and project accounting for large capital projects.
  • background in software or ERP implementation is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements and automation initiatives within a finance organization.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate integrity, sound professional judgment, and a strong commitment to ethical financial stewardship in all activities.
  • Lead all global accounting operations, including general ledger, consolidation, project accounting, revenue recognition, fixed assets, statutory reporting, and intercompany processes.
  • Oversee global month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely consolidated financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Own the company’s application of ASC 606 and lead percentage-of-completion revenue recognition and project-based accounting for large-scale, multi-phase capital projects.
  • Serve as the process owner for SAP ECC 6.0 Finance modules and support the evaluation and evolution of the company’s long-term ERP strategy.
  • Build and maintain a strong internal control environment, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards.
  • Manage the external audit relationship and coordinate the preparation of all audit deliverables, disclosures, and supporting documentation.
  • Partner with regional finance teams to ensure local compliance and statutory reporting, collaborating with external tax and accounting advisors as needed.
  • Develop, mentor, and lead a geographically distributed accounting team based in Pittsburgh, PA, and Pune, India, fostering collaboration and high performance.
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities and automation initiatives across the global finance function to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support cross-functional decision-making by providing insight into accounting-driven financial trends, operational cost structures, and margin performance.
  • Serve as a senior finance leader and strategic partner to executive stakeholders across legal, tax, operations, and commercial functions.
  • Engage regularly with private equity sponsors, the Board of Managers, and the Audit Committee to communicate financial performance and support strategic initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the evolving needs of the organization.
