About The Position

Our client is seeking a Controller to lead accounting operations and manage a team to deliver high-quality financial reporting and advisory services, primarily supporting a portfolio of clients in a service-based environment. This role acts as both a people leader and strategic partner, overseeing day-to-day accounting activities while providing insights that drive financial clarity and organizational impact.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
3-5+ years of full-cycle accounting or public accounting experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment

Nice To Haves

2+ years of team leadership or management experience preferred
CPA preferred
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
Experience in client-facing, service-based, or nonprofit environments preferred

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of financial services
Oversee full-cycle accounting, including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Review and analyze financial statements to assess performance and ensure accuracy and audit readiness
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis for clients
Serve as a strategic advisor, presenting financial insights to leadership and key stakeholders
Manage multiple client relationships, ensuring high service levels and long-term satisfaction
Maintain and enhance accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting standards
Support audit and tax processes, including coordination with external partners
Monitor team performance, KPIs, and deadlines, and proactively address gaps
Drive process improvements, scalability, and operational efficiency within the accounting function
Participate in onboarding new clients and integrating accounting processes
