About The Position

A Wider Circle is seeking a dedicated and hands-on Part-Time Controller to join our team. This position requires approximately 15-20 hours per week and offers a largely remote schedule with periodic on site responsibilities. The Controller will work most closely with the President and CEO and the current in house accounting staff. The ideal candidate brings broad hands-on experience and is prepared to provide backup support across key finance functions including accounts payable, billing, and accounts receivable.

Requirements

Passionate about working in or supporting non-profit organizations
Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance
5-7 plus years accounting experience
Experience working in a remote environment preferred
Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, work independently, and be responsive on a timely basis
Demonstrated strong Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets skills
Experience with multiple GL packages, especially QuickBooks, and electronic bill pay
Must be authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

Non-profit accounting, public accounting experience, and/or consulting experience is a plus
CPA certification is a plus

Responsibilities

Reviewing and approving invoices and corresponding payments via bill.com system
Reviewing and approving positive pay from bank daily
Verifying accounting coding in month end closing
Running monthly financial reports for CEO and Board
Undertaking cash flow projections and financial modeling
Tracking financial KPIs
Completing revenue and expense against budget
Recommending and implementing improvements to accounting, operations, internal controls, and compliance policies and procedures, supporting client strategy and best practices
Supporting preparation for annual audit
Supporting cash flow management
Supporting tax reporting with various jurisdictions
Reviewing payroll registers and submitting for final processing
