We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Controller to lead cost accounting and financial reporting for our organization. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field.
  • Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or master’s degree in accounting.
  • 4+ years of related experience with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cost accounting, including standard costing methodologies and variance analysis.
  • Proficiency in accounting software systems (e.g. ERP, SAP, NetSuite, Accumatica, or Aptean)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Upholds the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems, bill of materials, labor reporting, and work centers.
  • Requires a good understanding of the processes and challenges of working with manufacturing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions in a timely and organized manner.
  • Comfort analyzing information from databases and other systems (e.g., Excel) to identify patterns, and the ability to present accounting reports and concepts in a clear, understandable format.

Responsibilities

  • All financial transaction processing and reporting for the company.
  • Managing standard cost data for products in the ERP system including material, labor, and overhead costs.
  • Identify, analyze, and report variances between standard and actual costs, providing root-cause analysis.
  • Oversee all financial accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing and fixed assets.
  • Preparation of company financial statements, external reports, and support for income tax reporting.
  • Sits on the senior leadership team to set the strategic direction for the company.
  • Position includes supervision of one direct report.
