About The Position

Value Added Distributors (VAD) is seeking a Controller for a full-time, hybrid role based in De Pere, WI. This position places you at the financial helm of a growing manufacturing organization, where leadership, insight, and innovation are highly valued. In this role, the Controller will be responsible for reviewing financial data across various entities, guiding the accounting team through close activities, and ensuring that all financial records are accurate and compliant. The Controller will also collaborate closely with operations and leadership to analyze variances, manage inventory accounting, work-in-progress (WIP), fixed assets, and job costing. Key responsibilities include strengthening internal controls, serving as the primary liaison for external audits, and supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning. The role also involves continuously improving financial systems and processes through automation and efficiency initiatives, thereby playing a critical part in supporting the company's ongoing growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage large volumes of financial data accurately
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • High level of discretion with confidential information
  • General tech-savviness and adaptability to new systems

Nice To Haves

  • CPA certification
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience
  • Exposure to audits
  • ERP system experience (Epicor is a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Review financial data across multiple entities
  • Guide the accounting team through close activities
