About The Position

This project-based role supports a variety of clients with accounting and finance work, including interim or interim-to-hire assignments. The role may serve clients in capacities such as Controller, CFO, or Project Leader and includes responsibility for accounting close processes, SEC reporting, due diligence, and complex accounting matters. The Controller also documents and improves processes, manages multiple client stakeholders, and may identify additional BDO services that are appropriate for clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Accounting focus preferred.
• At least 10 years of accounting-related experience required.
• Experience working with public, private, or private equity companies required.
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or SAP required.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook required.
• Technical skills commensurate with experience.
• Demonstrate professionalism under pressure, ethical and effective work habits, and ability to learn quickly.
• Be a team player who contributes knowledge and asks for help when needed.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with customers at all levels and internal teams.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet project deadlines.
• Continually strive to improve interpersonal, management, functional, and technical skills.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Serve clients in various capacities, including Controller, CFO, or Project Leader.
• Manage multiple client stakeholders simultaneously.
• Prepare miscellaneous accounting reports.
• Participate in and lead ad hoc projects.
• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing.
• Perform due diligence procedures for clients.
• Assist clients with SEC reporting.
• Resolve complex accounting issues and assist clients with implementing accounting pronouncements, including ASC 606 and ASC 842.
• Ensure work is accurate and follows the correct technical approach.
• Create and document processes, and suggest and implement process improvements.
• Recognize and offer additional appropriate BDO services to clients.
• Perform other duties as required.
