About The Position

Vertech is seeking a Control Systems Integrator III to develop industrial automation solutions, with a focus on energy projects. The role plans, designs, programs, implements, tests, and commissions PLC/HMI-based control systems, primarily using SEL RTAC and Ignition Perspective. It includes designing SCADA systems for real-time data acquisition, alarming, and control at solar PV and battery energy storage (BESS) sites. The position owns control system architecture—including PLCs, SCADA, networks, I/O, and interfaces—and documents technical decisions, designs, configurations, and procedures. The integrator serves as a project's technical lead and primary technical contact for clients, helps guide junior engineers, and troubleshoots and validates systems in-house and in the field through startup and commissioning. Travel up to 20% is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in electrical, mechanical, chemical, or related engineering field, or relevant experience.
  • Three to seven years of experience developing PLC-controlled SCADA systems, preferably in a project-based industry.
  • At least two years of experience developing PLC programs, HMI screens, and SCADA systems.
  • Expert PLC programming skills in ladder logic, function block diagram, and structured text across multiple PLC platforms such as Rockwell, Siemens, GE, or Modicon.
  • Thorough understanding of at least one major HMI/SCADA platform, such as Ignition, Wonderware, FactoryTalk View SE, or GE Proficy.
  • Working knowledge of industrial protocols such as Modbus, EtherNet/IP, and DNP3.
  • Ability to read and redline electrical drawings and P&IDs and specify PLC and I/O hardware.
  • Ignition Gold and Wonderware Certified Developer status, or willingness to earn both within the first year.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, and ability to work independently across multiple projects.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.

  • Own control system architecture, including PLC, SCADA, networks, I/O, and interfaces, and document key technical decisions.
  • Write structured, well-documented, bug-free PLC code.
  • Design intuitive, easy-to-navigate, aesthetically pleasing HMI interfaces.
  • Act as the technical lead on projects and the primary technical contact for clients.
  • Break down project technical components and help lead junior-level engineers.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and validate systems in-house and in the field through startup and commissioning.
