About The Position

The Control Room Operator executes approved plant start-up and shutdown procedures to help ensure the facility meets its operational, environmental, and safety commitments. The operator monitors plant systems and equipment, responds to alarms, directs other operators, and supports safe, environmentally efficient operations. The position requires 12-hour rotating shifts and the ability to perform the stated physical demands, including working at heights and in confined spaces.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successfully complete the ASME QRO Provisional Licensing exam within the first year in the position.
• Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
• Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb; lift or carry 50 pounds; work at heights and in confined spaces; qualify to wear a full-face respirator; and work in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to Crane, Auxiliary, and Back Plant Operators to maintain safe and efficient operations.
• Monitor Reworld operations systems and apply working knowledge of boiler, turbine, and auxiliary equipment operations.
• Read blueprints, P&IDs, and schematic specifications.
• Manage critical events and prioritize tasks during emergencies, providing clear directions on operational, safety, and environmental tasks.
• Respond to operational alarms and take immediate corrective action.
• Apply operational best practices, problem-solving, and sound decision-making in support of safety and operational goals.
• Execute approved plant start-up and shutdown procedures.
