About The Position

HF Sinclair's Contracts & Pricing Analyst provides administrative and technical support for the Contract and Pricing department. The role works under minimal supervision, with latitude to use initiative and independent judgment, and may direct or lead the work of others from time to time. The analyst works with Supply and Marketing to prepare contracts and set up customers, helping the Commercial group sell products at the highest possible netbacks. The position supports accurate and timely contracts, pricing, customer setup, and invoicing, while coordinating with internal teams and external customers. It also identifies and resolves issues, supports market opportunities and refinery needs, develops expertise in contract and pricing software, and contributes to process documentation and improvement. The role may be performed remotely, in a hybrid arrangement, or onsite in Dallas, Texas, or Salt Lake City, Utah. Requirements

At least eight years of related work experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to apply advanced clerical and data-entry skills to assignments based on pre-established guidelines.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft products, including MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel.
Strong working knowledge of the mechanics of contracts and pricing.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including effective written and verbal communication.
Basic understanding of computer use.
Intermediate reading and writing skills.
Ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations.
Knowledge of trade locations and SAP navigation.
Advanced ability to implement new systems and procedures and evaluate their effectiveness.
Ability to lead or supervise the work of others.

Nice To Haves

Four years of experience in the petroleum industry.
Bachelor's degree in business or a technical discipline.

Responsibilities

Work with Supply and Marketing groups to prepare contracts and set up customers, helping the Commercial group sell products at the highest possible netbacks.
Manage customer setups with a cross-functional team that includes credit, tax, and accounting; explain objectives, lead the process through completion, and communicate regular updates to stakeholders.
Ensure Company contracts and prices are accurate, complete, and delivered in a timely manner.
Coordinate with scheduling, billing, and accounting groups to ensure invoices are prompt and accurate.
Identify potential problems and take initiative to prevent them, avoiding potential sales issues and supporting a positive customer experience.
Analyze customer issues independently, propose and implement timely solutions, and apply general knowledge of contract and pricing policies and procedures.
Quickly prepare back-office setup needed to keep customers supplied in response to market opportunities or refinery issues.
Develop expertise with internal SAP modules and external terminal and pricing software, including Deal Capture, DTN TABS, Atlas, and the Customer Portal.
Assist with developing and maintaining marketing reports that provide the Commercial group with information about upcoming contract expiration dates for renegotiation.
Develop and document policies and procedures for the contract and pricing group, and identify opportunities to improve work accuracy, communication, or timeliness.
Communicate effectively and maintain positive, productive working relationships with internal counterparts and external customers.
Provide backup support, training, and direction to other contracts and pricing staff as needed.
Perform special assignments or tasks assigned by the manager.
