This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations. As part of the customer contracts team in the Legal and Compliance group, you will directly support contracting efforts as part of a cross-functional team within the Advanced Concepts and Enterprise Engineering (ACE) Business Unit. On the cutting-edge of technology, ACE drives innovation by incubating new products and businesses, while securing external funding for priority development initiatives. Our portfolio encompasses space transportation, orbital destinations, lunar surface logistics, space nuclear power & propulsion, in-situ resource utilization and alternative energy sources. We serve a broad customer base that includes domestic and international government agencies and industry. This is an early career role with in the Legal and Compliance group reporting to the Sr. Contracts Manager under the day-to-day supervision of the ACE Contracts Manager. As an individual contributor, you will provide support to our internal and external customers in all phases of contract administration from capture through proposal, negotiation and execution, administration, and closeout. Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of contracting experience and Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution in a business, technical or other field that provides exposure to contracting issues.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of operational excellence in a complex and fast paced environment.
  • Ability to manage tasking independently and work closely with the ACE Contracts Manager and Sr. Contracts Manager on complex and nuanced issues as they arise.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and NASA FAR Supplement.
  • Ability to solve problems using multiple sources of data and define priorities.
  • Project and task management experience delivering end products to various internal and external customers.
  • Prior Government contracts experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support communications with the customer and cross-functional counterparts to track and submit invoices, monitor contractual obligations, process modifications, and prepare administrative documentation.
  • Negotiate and execute non-disclosure agreements, memorandums of understanding, and Letters of Intent.
  • Draft and receive customer correspondence, ensuring coordination between external customers and internal customers.
  • Assist in proposal development activities.
  • Participate in contract negotiations under supervision of the ACE Contracts Manager.
  • Analyze and provide initial contractual guidance on U.S. Government and commercial contracting issues and coordinates guidance with the appropriate Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and tools relating to customer contract administration.
  • Apply standardized processes and guidance; use automation when practical and appropriate.
  • Facilitate and manage through completion, data and documentation input and deliverables into various corporate, government, and customer systems.
