About The Position

O'Dell HVAC Group is a well-established HVAC equipment representative, partnering with engineers, building owners, and contractors throughout Canada. Our success is fueled by our people-first culture, where teamwork, innovation, and professional growth are at the core of everything we do. We are seeking a Contractor Sales role to join our Coquitlam team. You will oversee the sale of products and equipment to contractors assigned to our projects, and will be responsible for developing and maintaining customer, contractor and vendor relationships.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in related field
  • A minimum of three to five (3–5) years of experience in HVAC or construction industry.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and perform accurate take-offs and pricing
  • High level of skill in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), and proficiency with CRM software (NetSuite) is an asset
  • Expertise in sales techniques, combined with strong customer service skills
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and own reliable vehicle
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Experience with quoting or project management, with the ability to manage multiple projects ongoing at once
  • Experience with HVAC selection software
  • Working knowledge of the British Columbia Building Code (BCBC) and associated ASHRAE Standards

Responsibilities

  • Provide input on quotes/bids for projects regarding equipment design and selection
  • Provide detailed evaluations of competitive products to communicate value of O’Dell product solutions to all stakeholders
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with large mechanical and sheet metal contractors, supporting bid development and positioning O’Dell solutions on major project opportunities
  • Assist with troubleshooting on any issues arising with mechanical equipment, coordinating with Service Team as required
  • Assist design build contactors with the project design and act as a point of contact for any issues that may arise
  • Complete required product training to remain up to date and informed on newest technologies
  • Participate in networking and business development opportunities, including lunches with clients, charity events, and society events
  • Provide presentations to new and current customers on new products
  • Perform ongoing project site visits
  • Connect with new and prospective customers to build relationships and provide information about new products and technology
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
