About The Position

To sustain the organization’s scaling efforts, the Powerful Learning Team is building a talent pipeline as we strive to engage 30 million learners in powerful learning experiences. We are recruiting mid-level to senior-level specialized experts to fill part-time and/or term-limited positions. This opportunity is ideal for independent contractors who wish to gain experience and exposure within Digital Promise. Candidates must be available during standard business hours.

Requirements

Technical skills related to emerging technologies, programming and coding, and data management and analytics.
Availability during standard business hours.
Ability to provide subject matter expertise on the ethical and practical applications of AI in learning contexts.
Experience evaluating the feasibility, bias, and long-term viability of various emerging technologies for educational use.
Experience designing, developing, and implementing proof-of-concept models utilizing AI/ML techniques.
Experience in rapid prototyping of functional models and minimal viable products (MVPs).
Experience providing high-level internal support for cloud applications and server infrastructure, including AWS environments (EC2 and Lambda).
Strong commitment to working toward Digital Promise’s mission and impact goals.
Interest in redesigning learning systems to better serve those who are historically and systemically excluded.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional team members.

Responsibilities

Provide subject matter expertise on the ethical and practical applications of AI in learning contexts, evaluating the feasibility, bias, and long-term viability of various emerging technologies for educational use.
Design, develop, and implement proof-of-concept models utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques to address specific challenges and opportunities within the education sector (e.g., adaptive learning paths, personalized feedback engines, or automated assessment).
Lead the rapid prototyping of functional models and minimal viable products (MVPs) demonstrating how emerging AI tools can facilitate more powerful, measurable learning outcomes, ensuring a user-centric design approach focused on educator and student needs.
Provide high-level internal support for the maintenance and seamless transition of core cloud applications and server infrastructure, including AWS environments (EC2 and Lambda).
Collaborate with cross-functional team members to ensure information is shared, projects are completed on time, and goals are reached.
Work toward Digital Promise’s mission and impact goals.
Redesign learning systems to better serve those who are historically and systemically excluded.
