About The Position

The Contract Specialist manages the day-to-day maintenance of multiple individual contracts. This position is responsible for ensuring contracts, amendments, agreements, and budget realignments are executed accurately, compliantly, and on time across the Substance Use Block Grant's portfolio of service contracts. The role contributes to standardized processes, guides others through the contract life cycle, and works closely with program, finance, and compliance teams to ensure the efficient execution of contracts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related area from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of progressive procurement or contract administration experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Completion of the North Carolina Contract Management Certification Program within one year of hire into the position.

Nice To Haves

  • General familiarity with federal block grant requirements (45 CFR 96).
  • General familiarity with Uniform Administrative Requirements (2 CFR 200).
  • Possession of North Carolina Contract Manager certification (NCCM).
