About The Position

This position is responsible for communicating with internal departments and directly with Lease Drivers and/or Owner Operators on the repair status of equipment. Works as a liaison among maintenance personnel, contract drivers, and service providers to determine the most effective course for repair to minimize equipment downtime and cost. Yard management duties as part of workload. Identifies the need and timeliness for equipment repairs based on incoming correspondence from contracted drivers by utilizing DOT regulations and USX policy. Ensures cost efficiency of repairs with emphasis on safety and customer satisfaction. Communicates with drivers, internal departments, and vendors regarding tractor and trailer repair. Attains cost estimates on all major component failures and repairs. Uses internal resources to ensure repair cost is within standard guidelines prior to authorization of the repair. Attains cost estimates and places requests for service with appropriate vendors (towing, trailer, tire, tractor, etc.). Utilizes the Service Locator to determine the best vendor to use for en route repairs. Ensures that invoices reflect all repairs needed and that all procedures and directives that apply have been followed during the process of the entire issue from initial creation within Cetaris through the work order process. Confirms that service provided on a given repair order is eligible for warranty coverage by reviewing the vehicle mileage, date in-service, type of failure, extended warranty coverage, and previous work history. Confirms the correct, accurate, and proper standard repair times (S.R.T.) have been posted and confirms any discrepancies submitted on the preview sheet. Authorizes repairs above the limit set for maintenance representatives and reports discrepancies to Management. Obtains signed security agreements when applicable. Assists lease drivers with maintenance inquiries. Equipment management IC program reconcile and audit yard checks from outside terminals. Investigate any discrepancies and find the root cause of the discrepancies. Help independent contractors understand settlement sheets. Reconcile and explain work order invoices against an independent contractor settlement sheet. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in truck or automotive service and/or parts preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Excel
  • Basic understanding of accounting
  • Basic understanding invoices
  • Strong communications skills
  • Basic knowledge of the mechanics of tractors and trailers required.
  • Basic understanding of shop repair costs and invoices.
  • Basic understanding of VMRS coding.
  • Knowledge and understanding of corporate policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • AS400 skills preferred.
