About The Position

GFT is seeking an Contract Control Specialist to join our Project Team in New York, NY. This role requires regular attendance in our office in New York, NY. At GFT, we are building the future through strong construction and program management services rooted in quality, safety, innovation, and sustainability. Our construction management teams oversee every phase of a project to help ensure work is delivered on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with safety and quality standards. What you’ll be challenged to do: As a Contract Control Specialist, you will play a key role in keeping complex construction projects organized, compliant, and moving forward by managing contracts, tracking costs, and supporting critical project decisions. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure changes, budgets, and schedules are handled with accuracy and clarity, giving you strong exposure to how large-scale projects are executed from both a technical and business perspective. This role will challenge you to think critically, communicate across teams, and take ownership of important project controls, helping you build the experience needed to grow into higher-level construction management or project management roles within GFT.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 5 years of full-time experience in one or more of the following: Project management, Design, Construction, Operations, Administration, Architectural, electrical, or mechanical/plumbing, or related field
  • At least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity
  • Minimum 3 years of administrative experience with: A construction consultant or A construction contractor

Responsibilities

  • Managing contracts between the client, consultants, and contractors
  • Reviewing and tracking budgets, invoices, and cost controls
  • Handling change orders, ensuring they’re documented, justified, and approved
  • Monitoring project schedules and flagging delays or risks
  • Coordinating with project managers, engineers, and construction teams
  • Ensuring compliance with contract terms, policies, and procedures
  • Preparing reports, documentation, and status updates for leadership
