About The Position

The Contracts Specialist's primary responsibility is to review, revise, negotiate and finalize customer contracts as well as revisions suggested to Maxim Crane standard agreements. The successful candidate must have a meticulous nature suited to reading for the majority of each workday paying close attention to detail; possess good writing skills; and be an effective communicator/negotiator (through both the written and spoken word). The Contracts specialist will be exposed to Maxim Crane employees and suppliers/customers throughout the U.S. on a daily basis. The Maxim Crane Legal Department has a team mentality and the Contracts Specialist will have constant interaction with all members of the Department including the Chief Legal Officer/General Counsel. Requirements

  • Experience as a Contract Review Specialist or equivalent role in the construction or related industry
  • Strong analytical and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Keen attention to detail with an ability to spot errors
  • Ability to work with various Maxim Crane employees including clerks, sales personnel, and executives
  • Ability to work with customers and outside counsel
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a group environment

Responsibilities

  • Review Customer Agreements, Contracts, Purchase Orders, and other legal documents to identify areas of legal and operational concern
  • Work with Maxim sales reps as well as client contacts to negotiate and modify problematic clauses in above documents
  • Manage all updates and modifications to Maxim Crane standard contract documents
  • Work within and update documents within Maxim Crane’s contract database
  • Check emails in a timely manner
  • Communicate with sales team and dispatch
  • Keep detailed and up to date digital and physical records
  • Requires basic use of excel
  • Organized, self starter
  • Generate contracts using Unity legal software
  • Basic fill in forms and word document formatting
  • Effectively communication via email to request contract signature and insurance documents
  • Review insurance documents to ensure that they meet our list of requirements
  • Effectively communicate with customers via email or phone call to request revisions if necessary
  • Utilize unity legal software to upload and send documents to legal team for review
  • Review legal contracts for any specific billing instructions and relay those to billing team
  • Review legal contracts for insurance requests and request COI for customer
  • Communicate legal changes to customers via email
  • Request signatures from Reginal Vice President
