We are currently seeking a Contract Civil Litigation Attorney who is federally licensed to join our expanding team. This is a contract-based role for an experienced civil litigation attorney who is confident managing complex matters, appearing in both state and federal court, and maintaining a consistent caseload in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of legal practice
- Active federal licensure (Southern District required)
- Demonstrated experience in civil litigation (required)
- Experience in business law and real estate litigation (required)
- Trial experience (required)
- Ability to meet a minimum of 60 billable hours bi-weekly (120+ hours per month)
Nice To Haves
- Experience handling federal litigation matters
- Background in estate planning and/or tax law (a plus)
- Strong written and oral advocacy skills
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of civil litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, and federal court filings
- Conduct legal research and develop strategic case approaches
- Represent clients in state and federal court hearings, mediations, and trials
- Handle all phases of discovery, including depositions, interrogatories, and document production
- Ensure compliance with federal and state procedural rules and court deadlines
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Provide case evaluations and legal recommendations
- Collaborate with internal team members, including case managers and support staff
- Maintain accurate and timely billing records to meet required billable hours
