About The Position

National Life Group, a rapidly growing insurance company founded in 1848, is seeking a Contract Change Specialist to provide quality after-issue servicing of life insurance and annuity products. This role involves processing changes to life policies and annuities accurately and in a timely manner, based on contractual rights and product specifications. The specialist will also communicate with field and home office associates to ensure compliance with company and state regulations. The position requires collaboration with various individuals and departments, including producers, policy owners, field associates, New Business, Underwriting, Replacements, Payment Centers, Contract & Licensing, Title, and Claims.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze requests from policy owners or field associates for availability by reviewing product specifications, contractual language, old rates books, and agent guides.
  • Review received requirements for completeness and communicate any missing information to the agent or policy owner.
  • Order underwriting requirements such as medical exams, RX reports, MIB, Motor vehicle reports, and any other requirements requested by the underwriter.
  • Process submitted transactions promptly and efficiently within the designated time frame.
  • Perform a final review of policy changes, calculate changes to premiums and commissions, and prepare documentation for all reviews.
  • Process policy changes by inputting updated information into administrative systems (traditional life, disability, and vantage systems), issue new policies on the new business system, and make necessary changes to supporting systems.
  • Maintain quality work by performing quality checks of new or changed policies and mailing appropriate forms and documentation to the agent and/or policy owner.
  • Update systems and file all documentation in permanent, imaged applications; perform follow-up as needed.
  • Participate in SEC, FINRA, and state audits, as well as annual transactional audits.
  • Determine if grace period and/or lapse notifications should be sent to policyholders for individual policies.
  • Perform other duties related to servicing and maintaining Inforce Policies.
