About The Position

Under general supervision of the Solid Waste Services (SWS) Director, the Contract Administrator is responsible for administering various service, maintenance, and construction contracts for SWS, ensuring contractor compliance with contract terms and conditions. Applicable laws, ordinances, policies, and procedures shall be followed as promulgated by the Municipal Charter and Title 7 of the Anchorage Municipal Code and in a manner consistent with the Department’s operational policies and procedures. The position involves developing, preparing, and administering various contracts including on-call trade services, petroleum services, telematics and GPS, tire and parts supplies, preventative maintenance and major repairs, IT services, operational services, and minor capital projects. A strong understanding of contract administration, project management, and municipal law, ordinances, and policies is required to effectively resolve issues, prioritize tasks, and perform other duties assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent and seven (7) years of experience in the field related to the position.
  • OR Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Finance or similar discipline and five (5) years of experience in the field related to the position.
  • OR Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Finance or similar discipline and three (3) years of experience in the field related to the position.
  • A Valid State of Alaska Driver's License
  • Satisfactory national criminal background investigation
  • Current Copy of your Department of Motor Vehicle FULL driving record
