About The Position

The Ohio State University Extension Continuing Education Specialist 4 will work collaboratively with county, center, area and state teams of Ohio State University (OSU) Extension professionals and with local agency leaders and volunteers to provide guidance for dog and companion animal programming targeted to statewide needs. The Continuing Education Specialist 4 will utilize appropriate methods, both formal and informal, of clientele assessment to identify educational needs and opportunities of statewide efforts. The Continuing Education Specialist 4 will implement and teach educational programming, based on these needs, to groups and individuals comprised of adults and/or youth. The Continuing Education Specialist 4 may be required to replicate and adhere to existing programs that meet the needs of the 4-H Youth Development requirements and community needs. The Continuing Education Specialist 4 will develop promotional material, work with committees and volunteers, and establish and maintain partnerships that support the achievement of the program goals. The Continuing Education Specialist 4 evaluates educational programs and dissemination methods, as well as, utilizes existing evaluation instruments to evaluate the teaching effectiveness, program quality and results of local programs. Assist in discussions with donors concerning program funding. The Continuing Education Specialist 4 will seek, write, and coordinate related grants for statewide and county levels. The Continuing Education Specialist 4 will participate as a member of state and/or multi-state Extension teams to further the overall mission, vision and values of both Ohio State University Extension and 4-H Youth Development. This position requires extensive travel during the week and some weekends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 6 years of relevant experience required.

  • 8-12 years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities
