About The Position

The Coordinator of Continuing Education and Professional Development will provide oversight in the development and administration of non-credit education courses, professional CE units, community-based education, summer camps for K-12 students, testing services, leisure learning, and conferences and workshops for the university and community.

  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills including collaboration, professionalism, and strong consultative skills conducive to building and maintaining positive relations with administrators, co-workers, staff, faculty and members of the community.
  • Have extensive experience with community partnerships and relationship building.
  • Possess innovative and entrepreneurial thinking.
  • Show ability to work in a fast, paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a forward-looking vision for the Continuing Education unit.
  • Effectively manage and cultivate resources to support and advance the university’s goals.
  • Ensure key stakeholder input for an evolving, long-term intentional engagement strategy for the region.
  • Serve as a liaison to external and internal stakeholders in conjunction with continuing education opportunities.
  • Build awareness of ULM continuing education opportunities through impactful marketing tactics using multiple mediums.
  • Develop partnerships with external and internal stakeholders across all sectors including business, health care, industry, education, government, and non-profit entities that enable successful and relevant continuing education offerings.
  • Expand and update our current continuing education offerings.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and the external community to identify micro-credentials and short courses that would be beneficial for workforce needs.
  • Create and execute coursework for micro-credentials and short courses.
  • Investigate, analyze, and identify software to manage registration and coursework for continuing education and professional development.
  • Collaborate with campus representatives to identify testing needs for ULM students to ensure offerings that are needed for their educational and professional advancement.
  • Centralize, organize, and market K-12 summer campus for students and educators.
  • Collaborate with university faculty/staff to offer professional continuing education opportunities primarily, but not limited to, careers applicable to ULM degree programs.
  • Develop leisure learning courses based on demand and need.
  • Provide support and oversight of conferences, workshops and summer camps.
  • Manage the departmental budget.
