About The Position

Valve+Meter Performance Marketing is seeking a skilled Copywriter/Content Specialist to create impactful content for clients in competitive markets. This role involves building narratives, clarifying complex ideas, and driving demand generation for industrial, technical, and professional services brands. The specialist will translate technical jargon into compelling stories, connect business value to audience needs, and balance creativity with performance-driven strategy to produce content like white papers, blogs, case studies, and web copy that generates leads, engagement, and measurable results. Content is crucial at Valve+Meter for driving business outcomes. This role will develop work that educates, influences, and inspires action across the marketing funnel, helping clients stand out and grow in B2B markets. The position directly contributes to lead generation, prospect nurturing, and strengthening customer relationships. Collaboration with SEO strategists, account managers, and the creative team is key to developing content aligned with search strategy, sales objectives, and broader marketing initiatives. The specialist will act as a bridge between client insights and audience engagement, transforming complex technical concepts into clear, persuasive narratives for decision-makers. Beyond writing, the role involves shaping messaging strategies, contributing to editorial planning, and creating foundational content for long-term marketing systems, turning marketing efforts into a reliable revenue engine. Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience writing B2B marketing content, preferably in an agency or performance-driven environment
  • Portfolio showcasing long-form and short-form B2B writing (blogs, white papers, case studies, etc.)
  • Strong research, interviewing, and storytelling skills
  • Understanding of SEO writing principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, communications, or related field—or equivalent experience

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on familiarity with StoryBrand
  • Experience writing for home services, manufacturing, technical, and/or industrial sectors
  • Familiarity with buyer’s journey, content mapping, and lead generation strategies
  • Experience collaborating with design, SEO, and paid media teams
  • Working knowledge of CMS platforms (WordPress, HubSpot) and content reporting tools

Responsibilities

  • Write and edit a range of B2B content formats, including blogs, white papers, case studies, website copy, landing pages, email campaigns, and thought leadership articles
  • Transform complex technical or industry-specific information into clear, compelling, audience-focused messaging
  • Collaborate with SEO strategists to optimize content for organic search while maintaining brand voice and clarity.
  • Develop and maintain clients’ content brand guidelines or optimize existing guidelines.
  • Conduct client interviews and brand/industry research to support the development of client style guides and a Brandscript within the StoryBrand framework.
  • Develop and maintain editorial calendars in partnership with account and strategy teams
  • Support content audits and gap analyses to identify opportunities for content improvement or expansion
  • Conduct research (internal and external) to inform content topics, competitive positioning, and audience needs
  • Participate in client-facing calls to gather insights, clarify messaging needs, and align on content direction
  • Assist in shaping content strategies and messaging frameworks for client campaigns
  • Ensure content quality, consistency, and compliance with client brand guidelines
  • Perform efficient, high-level internal quality checks of other copywriters’ work as a final step in the content creation process.
