About The Position

Granicus is seeking a Content Marketing Manager to join the Content Team. This role will focus on the development, creation, and editing of marketing collateral, with a special emphasis on transforming complex, long-form copy into concise short-form content. This position is a key component of our content strategy and is essential for ensuring Granicus effectively communicates its story in an engaging manner across all channels. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing and editing skills, with demonstrated experience in developing ad and promotional copy, and collaborating with marketing, sales, and leadership to produce impactful short- and medium-form content such as one-pagers, brag sheets, thought leadership blogs, and short guides. Experience with alternative storytelling formats like video, images, presentations, and social media is preferred. The role involves close collaboration with brand, segment, product marketing, and regional marketing teams to conceptualize, write, and produce campaigns across various platforms including web, social media, earned media, and other collateral. Continuous optimization of messaging and updating of collateral will also be a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • At least 4-6 years of related experience developing content for marketing teams, particularly for ads, social, and brand messaging.
  • Strong writing skills, with the ability to draft copy that is emotional, logical, informative, and engaging.
  • Good communication skills with team members and customers.
  • Excellent MS Office skills.
  • Detail-oriented, especially when it comes to editing and refining copy.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Effective project management skills, including challenging the status quo and identifying needs to reassess existing approaches/processes.
  • Adaptable and enjoy working in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines without compromising accuracy or quality.
  • Understanding of the difference between using AI as a development tool versus having it do your writing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, create, and edit marketing collateral, focusing on transforming long-form copy into short-form content.
  • Ensure Granicus effectively communicates its story in an engaging manner across all channels.
  • Develop ad and promotional copy (short, snappy, effective).
  • Work with marketing, sales, and leadership to create impactful short- and medium-form content (one-pagers, brag sheets, thought leadership blogs, short guides).
  • Collaborate with brand, segment, product marketing, and regional marketing teams to ideate, write, and produce campaigns across web, social, earned media, and other collateral.
  • Continuously optimize messaging and update collateral as needed.
  • Distill complex ideas and long messaging documents into short, punchy copy that attracts readers and encourages engagement with longer-form and lead-gen content.
  • Take initiative and ownership over projects, bringing stakeholders and subject matter experts together to develop engaging campaign strategies.
  • Look for new channels, formats, and content mixes to deliver the most impactful marketing collateral.
  • Help stakeholders surface their best ideas and develop content strategies.
  • Look beyond single-use or standalone content for opportunities to produce evergreen materials and multichannel campaigns.
  • Produce approximately 5-10 blogs' worth of copy per week (actual mix and deliverables will vary based on need).
  • Find innovative ways to maximize content through multiple channels and content types.
  • Perform in-line and developmental editing.
  • Demonstrate creativity in written copy, campaign planning, and market strategies.
