About The Position

Filigran is seeking a Content Marketing Lead to join their Brand, Community & Communications team. This role is responsible for defining the company's editorial voice, building its thought leadership, and growing an engaged audience within the cybersecurity industry. The lead will develop an authentic brand narrative and create content that resonates with practitioners, security leaders, and the broader market, focusing on threat intelligence, adversary simulation, and proactive cyber defense. Social media will be utilized as a primary tool for content distribution, amplification, and engagement, ensuring a consistent brand voice across channels. The position reports directly to the Brand & Communications Director.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in building an audience, such as through a successful newsletter, a brand's content that gained traction, or a LinkedIn presence with genuine engagement.
  • Strong opinions about cybersecurity, open source, or the practitioner experience, backed by reasoning.
  • Ability to write with a distinctive voice that sounds authentic and personal.
  • Strategic thinking about content distribution, understanding that visibility is key.
  • Experience working in or closely with security practitioners and leaders, with an understanding of cybersecurity concepts and a capacity for rapid learning.
  • 5+ years of experience in content strategy, editorial, or content marketing.
  • Comfort operating with a high degree of autonomy in a remote-first, async-friendly environment.

  • Experience developing or maintaining brand and editorial style guides.
  • Comfort with content tooling such as Notion, HubSpot, Buffer/Hootsuite, or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Define the core story Filigran tells the market to drive deeper conversations and position Filigran and its experts as authoritative, opinionated, and trusted voices in open-source threat management.
  • Build and run Filigran's thought leadership program end-to-end, identifying impactful angles, ideas, and narratives.
  • Own and evolve Filigran's editorial calendar, ensuring consistent and purposeful output aligned with brand positioning, product roadmap, and go-to-market priorities.
  • Assess existing content and refine it for different audiences and channels, exploring the creation of various content formats like checklists, blogs, infographics, guides, cheat sheets, and videos.
  • Uncover stories that get Filigran's perspective into industry media through contributed pieces, expert commentary, and data-driven content, working with the PR team.
  • Collaborate with the Brand & Communications Director, Community Experience Manager, Product, Go to Market Teams, and Leadership to identify and shape key messages.
  • Write content with a distinctive voice across multiple formats including long-form blog posts, thought leadership articles, white papers, executive bylines, product narratives, case studies, press materials, and newsletters.
  • Write across different registers, from technical deep-dives for SOC analysts to executive op-eds and concise social media posts.
  • Edit and sharpen content from internal contributors, preserving their voice while enhancing clarity, structure, and impact.
  • Uphold and maintain Filigran's brand style guide and editorial standards, ensuring content is clear, impactful, and free of jargon.
  • Proofread and QA all content before publication.
  • Utilize Filigran's social media channels (LinkedIn primary, X/Twitter secondary) to engage with the audience, lead with curiosity, and infuse opinions with understanding.
  • Build Filigran's LinkedIn and social channels into engaging platforms with a distinct point of view.
  • Track and report on social media performance, iterating based on results to grow reach and engagement with target audiences.
  • Stay current on social media platform dynamics.
