About The Position

CarParts.com (NASDAQ: PRTS) is a leading online destination for aftermarket auto parts, serving DIY drivers and professional mechanics with millions of parts and fast nationwide delivery. We are building a lean, senior marketing team in Long Beach, CA, and content is central to how customers find us, trust us, and choose us.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in content marketing and SEO, with at least 3 years owning organic and PDP content strategy for an ecommerce or high-SKU site.
  • A track record of measurable organic growth: traffic, rankings, and revenue you can speak to with numbers.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with writing samples that show range from technical how-to content to conversion copy.
  • Hands-on WordPress experience, including content management, plugins (for example Yoast or Rank Math), and basic HTML.
  • Proficiency with SEO tools such as Google Search Console, GA4, Semrush, and Screaming Frog.
  • Working knowledge of GEO: how large language models and AI search surfaces select and cite sources, and how structured data and content format affect visibility.
  • Experience managing freelancers or agencies to quality and deadline.
  • Ability to work on site in Long Beach, CA.

Nice To Haves

  • Automotive, aftermarket parts, or DIY repair content experience
  • Experience with programmatic or templated SEO across large catalogs (year, make, model, part pages).
  • Video content and YouTube SEO experience.
  • Familiarity with blog ad monetization and its impact on page experience.
  • Experience reporting organic performance to executive leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Own the content strategy and editorial calendar across site, blog, email and SMS, social, and video.
  • Set and maintain brand voice and style guidelines; review and approve copy from internal teams and agencies.
  • Write and edit high-impact content yourself: category and landing page copy, buying guides, how-to articles, and campaign messaging.
  • Partner with design, performance marketing, and CRM so content supports promotions, loyalty, and conversion goals.
  • Own the PDP content strategy across our parts catalog: titles, descriptions, bullets, specs, fitment copy, and FAQs.
  • Build scalable PDP templates and standards by category, balancing conversion, SEO, and AI answer visibility.
  • Partner with merchandising, product data, and feed teams to improve attribute quality and close content gaps at the SKU level.
  • Prioritize PDP optimization by revenue and traffic impact, and A/B test content changes to prove lift in conversion and organic revenue.
  • Use AI and templated generation to enrich content across millions of SKUs, with QA processes that protect accuracy.
  • Own the CarParts.com blog end to end: strategy, publishing cadence, quality, and performance.
  • Manage the WordPress environment day to day, including templates, plugins, internal linking, and site hygiene, partnering with engineering on technical changes.
  • Refresh, consolidate, or retire underperforming posts to grow traffic and authority.
  • Coordinate with partners on blog monetization and on-page commercial modules.
  • Own organic search strategy and results across the main site and the blog.
  • Run keyword research, content gap analysis, and on-page optimization at scale across a large parts catalog.
  • Partner with engineering and product feed teams on technical SEO: crawlability, site speed, structured data, and indexation.
  • Track and report rankings, organic traffic, and organic revenue; set targets and hit them.
  • Build our strategy for visibility in AI answers across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, and Google AI Overviews.
  • Structure content, schema, and expert signals so AI systems cite CarParts.com as a trusted source.
  • Monitor brand and product visibility in AI answers and report share of voice against competitors.
  • Test and adopt emerging tools and practices as the space evolves.
  • Manage freelance writers, editors, and SEO agency partners, including briefs, quality control, and budgets.
  • Use AI writing and research tools to increase throughput while protecting accuracy and brand voice.
