Content Coordinator - WSOC TV
About The Position
WSOC TV Charlotte is seeking a Content Coordinator to join its Content Center. The Content Center follows breaking news, coordinates coverage among crews, and creates content for online and on-air platforms. The coordinator monitors content resources, manages logistics for field crews, and gathers and writes content for digital and social platforms. In collaboration with a manager, the coordinator determines the most appropriate platform for each story. The role also involves coordinating with ABC affiliates, CNN, CMG stations, local partners, and other media organizations, and working directly with newsroom staff to track daily news and prepare for major events.
Requirements

- Previous newsroom experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Monitor content resources, including station email, phones, scanners, and social media.
- Handle logistics for field crews.
- Gather and write content for digital and social platforms.
- Work with a manager to determine the best platform for each story.
- Coordinate with ABC affiliates, CNN, CMG stations, local partners, and other media organizations.
- Work with reporters, photographers, producers, and newsroom managers to follow the news and prepare for major events.
- Investigate news tips and help see stories through to online and on-air distribution.
