About The Position

Performs administrative and clerical duties to process and document loans according to credit union policy and regulatory guidelines.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent.
  • Advanced coursework in Lending Regulations and Policies.
  • Five years to seven years of experience in a processing capacity.
  • Some supervisory experience.
  • PC literate.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Lending Software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data.
  • Strong problem-solving/decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Meet service standards as evaluated by internal and external members, including greeting promptly and friendly, treating members with courtesy and respect, offering undivided attention, taking ownership of situations and following through, providing accurate information and helpful solutions, improving members' financial lives, and thanking members for their business.
  • Complete loan documents and disburse loans.
  • Check documents for proper security interest, legal description, closing date, and signatures.
  • Provide clerical support for Home Equity Lending, Indirect Lending, and Auto Draft Programs, including updating loan data in the credit union’s computer systems.
  • Review applications and verify accuracy; conduct loan interviews with members.
  • Explain loan programs to members, evaluating their needs and recommending loan options.
  • Perform quality control for loans closed at branches, e-signatures, and Indirect Dealer and Indirect Merchant loans.
  • Assist members and employees with requests, questions, and problems regarding lending services.
  • Maintain a tracking system and procedures to monitor that required documentation is received and maintained according to policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that the documentation of credit union security interest is accurate and up to date.
  • Monitor and prepare releases and other paperwork for paid loans.
  • Assist members in filing Life, Disability, and Gap/DPW Insurance Claims.
  • Review and process mail & emails, ensuring information and documents are properly processed and filed.
  • Handle gathering and reporting of HMDA Information to Government.
  • Scan and maintain loan-related documents in optical storage system.
  • Order, stock, and maintain adequate supplies for the Lending Area.
  • Process Skip-A-Pay requests as part of the Skip-A-Pay program and Loan Modification as part of the Payment Assistance Program.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
