About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for gathering pending documentation/information from applicants, preparing loan documentation, and issuing loans. Resolve member issues and address member questions accurately and in a timely manner. Additionally, this position responds to member inquiries regarding the loan issuing process and is responsible for the preparation and processing of all phases of loan disbursements in the Loan Department. Communication with membership by this position will be via inbound and outbound calls along with electronic (email) communication.

Requirements

  • Every employee is required to comply with all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) policies and procedures, and to attend required BSA-related training as assigned.
  • Less than 2 years Experience as a Loan Processor or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of closing procedures, loan processes, and documentation.
  • Good understanding of banking computer software and MS Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good multitasking abilities with outstanding time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inbound/outbound calls and greets members appropriately according to CLP monitoring and coaching standards.
  • Conduct inbound/outbound calls from/to members for approved loan applications to coordinate loan closings with members via in-branch or e-docs (i.e. DocuSign).
  • Responsible for providing the member with their loan terms (payments, term, interest rate, etc.).
  • Work with underwriters on consumer loan applications and completing loan stipulations.
  • Collect all required documentation (paystubs, vehicle registration, buyer’s order, etc.) to complete loan application for funding.
  • Communicates lending decisions on consumer loan applications to members in a manner that provides prompt and efficient service.
  • Monitor and manage Lending queues ensuring timely follow up and processing is being achieved and all opportunities are being maximized.
  • Promptly and accurately issue loans that have been approved by those with lending authority.
  • Maintain knowledge/proficiency in CU offered products including Credit Life and Disability, Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP) and Vehicle Service Agreements (VSA) in order to explain product benefits to members.
  • Support sales process through referrals and cross-sell Credit Union products and services to assist members in meeting their financial needs.
  • Maintain knowledge of all policies and procedures within the loan department.
  • Answer inquiries from members about loan products and terms and other CU services.
  • Pay sight drafts for automobile loans.
  • Issue loans for pre-approved drafts including finalizing loan terms with members.
  • Ensure that dealerships provide accurate loan documentation to perfect CU lien. Contact dealers for corrections when necessary.
  • Field calls from dealerships or members who have questions about the auto drafts.
  • Perform quality assurance duties for loan documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
